Laura Pennell

I was given the opportunity to work with City Arts and an artist- Jessica Kemp. During this placement I helped to create a large carnival phoenix puppet – City Arts was a co-organiser of the first Nottingham Puppetry festival, therefore they commissioned this piece of work to engage members of community and make them feel more a part of the festival. They also were celebrating the ruby anniversary of the company and wanted to link that into the theme too. Through this placement I hoped to gain experience working with various members of the community, as I am intrigued about that career pathway.
